Best Practices Teacher Workshop

The weekend before our Lone Star Regional begins Unit 174 will once again be hosting the Best Practices Teacher Workshop, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm on Saturday, January 20th, and 8:00 am to 12:00 pm on Sunday, January 21st. Patti Tucker will be the instructor. If you have been thinking about doing this, now is the time! If you check out other regionals and nationals where this course is offered, it is usually $150. We are offering this course for $50! And that includes $150.00 worth of materials. So don’t hesitate! Sign up! If you have questions, contact Karen Nussbaum at Karenunit174@gmail.com.

The Lone Star Regional provides an excellent opportunity to recognize deserving members in Unit 174 or as a memorial for those who have passed away, by naming an event after that person.

What's your favorite charity? We want to hear from you because it's time to designate the Unit 174 Charity for 2024!
Please submit the name of a worthy charity for the Board's consideration to the Charity Chair, Nancy Strohmer at nastrohmer@yahoo.com by October 31st.

In addition to your nomination, please include the following:

  • A copy of the 501(c)(3)
  • Reasons why your charity should be selected
  • Information such as organization scope, effectiveness, and needs

Online Event at the Lone Star Regional

Unit 174 will be hosting a two-session ONLINE PAIR GAME Saturday, January 27th, 2024 at 10:00am and 2:30pm. Sign up for the game by logging into BBO and registering for the event. Payment will be made with BBO$ and all players must be in District 16.

Apple Duplicate Bridge Club

  • Face to face games are held every Monday and Friday at 11:30 am at the Tracy Gee Community Center. Please note that Apple no longer has any online (BBO) games. Click here for more information.

Bridge Academy of West Houston

  • The Bridge Academy of West Houston is located at Arabia Shrine Center, 10510 Harwin Dr., Houston, TX 77036. Invitational games are held on Wednesdays at 10:30 am. Both open and 299r games on Thursdays at 10:30 am. There is a monthly Swiss on one Sunday (TBA) at 1:00 pm and a monthly Mentor/Mentee game on the first Tuesday of each month at 10:30 am. Cypress NW Duplicate Bridge Club

  • Cypress NW DBC is holding F2F bridge games on Tuesdays and Thursdays with sign-in starting at 11:00 am for a start time of

Fort Bend Duplicate Bridge Club

  • Open games are held on Tuesdays 10:30 am at Arabia Schriner’s, 10510 Harwin Dr.,Houston, TX 77036 (Please arrive by 10:15 am). Please call if you will be late. Contact Eric Watson for questions at (832)287-9107.

Katy Duplicate Bridge Club

  • The games will be held on Wednesdays at Steve Radack Community Center located at 18650 Clay Rd, Houston, TX 77084. Check in starts at 11:00 am for the 11:30 am games. Proof of vaccination is required. If you have any questions please call Jim Warren at (832)851-4745.

Kingwood Duplicate Bridge Club

  • Wednesday and Thursday games start at 10:00 am at the Kingwood Community Center, 4102 Rustic Woods Drive, Kingwood, TX 77345. Entries are $2 and $3 for upgraded games. On Thursday mornings, Bill Riley will be giving a 30-45 minute presentation on various topics, conventions etc. starting at 9:00 am. A schedule of topics will be published periodically. Lake Conroe Bridge Club
